About Me

Hi there and welcome to my blog! My name is Nina, I'm 31 years old and I'm currently living in a suburb of the Swedish capital Stockholm. I love writing letters and I've been in the penpalling-world for more than 15 years. I stopped for a short time due to personal reasons but I've picked up letter-writing in 2006 again.

I live together with my boyfriend Anders and my cat Batzy. We live close to nature but still close to the big city. I quite like it here although many people consider this area as a "ghetto".

I'm originally from Kiel in Germany. I moved to Sweden in 2006 because of love. Me and my boyfriend had met on the internet and we were travelling back and forth to visit each other which was starting to get irritating. So I moved in with him.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in literary studies and I have a profession called "culture-knower". I want to get a Master's Degree in literary studies and maybe a Bachelor in philosophy. I'm unfortunately ill right now and I don't know when I'll be able to study properly again. At the moment I'm just taking the odd course here and there.

I have around 40 penpals from all over the world. I see my penpals as my friends. I have met some of them which was really exciting.

I can speak English, German and Swedish fluently. I can also speak and understand French but I lack the confidence to correspond in that language.

I swap small things with my penpals, like Decos/FBs,/Slams, chocolate/candy, postcards, stationary, well, about everything that it isn't too heavy to send and too expensive to buy.

I love writing long letters but I also have some penpals who write shorter letters. But really, I prefer long letters. I think the longest letter I have ever written was 60 pages long. That might have been a bit over the top. Haha.

I'm a feminist, a socialist, a humanist and an atheist. I am really open-minded though and I can discuss whatever topic in a respectful manner. I actually love discussing deeper matters, as much as I love getting to know other cultures and hearing about my penpals' every-day-endeavours.

If you want to put a label on me , you can call me a "goth". But yeah, as this is not a "penpal-ad" I don't feel like I should list all my interests, favourite bands and all that jazz. I just wanted to let you know who is behind this blog! :)
